Is it Springtime yet?

I’m pregnant and feeling very “black”. It seems that I gravitate towards dark colours for maternity clothes, something that has been enhanced by being pregnant through winter twice now. But I’m eager for spring, especially since I got some much wear out of my fabulous Sacha Drake dress last summer… I am just itching to bring some colour back into my life.

Here’s what I’m lusting after at the moment…

I am so completely in love with this dress! I first came across Miss Mel sometime last year and have been sharing her clothes on my FB page since then. Just love, love, love it! This dress is so gorgeous – not sure if I could pull off the colour though. Thoughts?

Thankfully I don’t need to be non-preggers to enjoy some earring bling! I stumbled across this gorgeous shop on Facebook just last week. Some of you may have seen these before but I had to share with you again. They arrived yesterday and I’ve only taken them off to sleep – simply gorgeous & beautiful quality! (I am loving their desk clocks too – so beautiful and unique!)

Another beautiful item I can wear while preggers is this gorgeous, bright scarf! It’s the latest of my Sussan purchases & I am loving it – it goes beautifully with my earrings don’t you think?!

And last but not least in my colour lust are these shoes. I tried them on in New York but I resisted because I felt we’d done enough shopping at the time. Now, of course, I regret it… lucky for me I discovered that I can buy them through Amazon and with free shipping too – it’s like I’m saving money this way!

What do you think of my choices? Are there any that you would like to have in your wardrobe too?

Thoughts on “Is it Springtime yet?

    • LOL! I hadn’t thought of that – not a bad idea. I bought a blue top on Monday so that’s making things feel a bit brighter – not long now and you won’t need your maternity clothes anymore! (or for a while anyway). YAY! x

    • Nooooooooooooooo I didn’t want to hear this! You could well be right though… sigh. I shall lust after it from a far and hope they decide to make it in a blue perhaps? x I am LOVING the shoes – I can see them in my future :)

    • I completely relate to this! Hubs bought a couple of pairs of their shoes and they are great quality – a bit investment but worth it (that’s the story I’m sticking to anyway!)

  1. I tend to live in black all year round because it’s easier (pregnant or not). When I was pregnant last year I tried to get out of black. I really did. I went to a specialty maternity wear shop in the city and said “I want to stay away from black”…and what happened? I got everything in black. I hated my pregnant self in colours other than black…I just found that anything with pattern made me feel all the more whale-like… And now I wear black because it’s there and I like it. My MIL would LOVE to get me out of black. We went post-baby shopping about a month ago for a couple of special occasion pieces and again I tried to stay away from black, but the dress of the day was black and even she admitted that it looked far and away the best of the bunch I tried on. I accessorize (when i can be bothered) with colour, but mostly I don’t bother because toddlers and babies tend to grab necklaces (which I used to love) and earrings (which I also like)…so I tend to go for my red bag and red shoes (sometimes)…or red anything if I can pull it off…that’s my splash of colour…summer? well we’ll see what happens…
