Sometimes I Forget That She’s Only 2…
She’s tall…and I mean she’d be considered tall if she were three and a half, not the two and a half she is.
She’s articulate,
She’s determined and
She’s sooo incredibly independent.
And so I forget.
I forget she’s still only a baby,
that she doesn’t know how to manage her emotions,
her strength.
She doesn’t know how to control herself,
let alone understand herself.
Sometimes I think she must know
what she needs
what she wants
how she wants it
when she needs it.
She must! Surely she’s 5, 7 or something!
But no.
She isn’t.
She needs her Mummy.
She needs me to remember that I know
and
I need to remember too.

I have the same problem with Amy. She’s 4 now, but so smart and articulate that I forget, she’s still only little. She can’t be reasonable yet. Not really.
Me too, with both Nearly 4 and the 2yo Who Never Sleeps. They get smart very quickly! Luckily, the baby is still a baby, so I don’t forget with that one!
found your blog through the follow me club, bigwords x
They can’t… Really?? Oh, I know but gee I can forget so easily. Sigh…
Thanks for visiting! Is it just me or is the baby sooo much easier when faced with the toddler?! Crazy!
I do it to Lou. Nieve is only 5 and the height of a 7 year old. It’s something we just have to keep reminding ourselves not to do xxx
Good to know it’s not just me. Happy New Year lovely friend!
