Merry Christmas To You And Yours…

Merry Christmas everyone!

Whatever your day has involved -  presents, food, family or perhaps, like ours, acrylic paint in places it shouldn’t be; from my family to yours, Merry Christmas.

And to give you a peek into our day…

I didn’t get to do a wonderful Christmas theme for Bliss this morning because the time I had planned to spend making Angels got taken up by something else this week. Instead we started the day with a simple birthday cake for Jesus and yummy breakfast. (and yes, the lazy award goes to moi – I didn’t even bake a cake but rather stuck some sparklers in the panetone. I don’t have a photo of the panetone with said sparklers alight because instead of heping HH light them so they all sparkled at once I stood waiting, camera in hand, for them all to be lit. This was not a good strategy)

We had to employ “operation distraction” for a while before opening pressies.

Mainly because certain presents were kind of obvious….

The day continued going well until I left Bliss alone downstairs for 10minutes.

She managed to get into her aunt’s room, find a tube of white acrylic paint and cover herself (& her brand new clothes!), the handrail walls back to the kitchen and then get it all over me (and my only summer dress!) and her Dad. She was not that thrilled with the clean up process….nor were we. (I’m still trying to figure out how I am going to get the stuff out of all our clothes!)

Meanwhile, Bear was just a bit perplexed by all the hullaballo…

Definitely a wonderful day, feeling very spoilt.

I’ll be posting sparodically over the coming weeks. I’m talking with Joan about whether there are ways to continue to supporting the children & families in detention on Christmas Island and I’ll post updates as I get them.

Just so you know there are still several boxes of toys in my house that couldn’t go in the delivery on Thursday for various reasons but that I will be sending in the coming weeks. If your house is now full of more non-battery operated toys put them in a cupboard and stay tuned…

God Bless,

Louisa

btw for those who were following along with my advent series it obviously got knocked of the radar, though I’d like to think that as we talked to Bliss about the kids with no toys (a concept she grasped quickly!) that she learnt as much as if I’d been deliberately “teaching” her.
